Congratulations to the HCA Drama Department and the students representing our school at the Thespian Competitions this past year!
The Highlands Christian Academy Drama Department is excited about our involvement in the International Thespian Society. Our High School Thespian Troupe 7217 and Junior High Thespian Troupe 88977 exist to expose students to peers around the local community and state who share their passion for theater.
DISTRICT 7 FLORIDA JUNIOR THESPIAN INDIVIDUAL EVENTS FESTIVAL
Highlands Christian Academy competed at the District 7 Florida Junior Thespian Individual Events Festival on December 2-3, 2011. We applaud the following students!

Our Junior Thespian Troupe performed the one act “School Daze” and received an Excellent rating.

DISTRICT 7 FLORIDA HIGH SCHOOL THESPIAN INDIVIDUAL EVENTS FESTIVAL 
On November 19, 2011, HCA was represented at the District 7 Florida High School Thespian Individual Events Festival. The following students received Excellents and Superiors and went go to the Florida State Thespian Festival in March:
- Gabriella Armor and Sofia Merced – Superior for Duet Acting in “Little Women”
- Marvyn Louis, Sasha Orrego, Osman Castro, Bethany Chapman, Gabriella Armor, and Bryce Ungerbuehler – Superior for the Pantomime “Night at the Movies”
- Gabriella Armor – Excellent for the solo “Alto’s Lament” from “Broken Broadway”
- Brianna Bossle – Excellent for the solo “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from “Little Mermaid”
- Amanda Heinrich – Excellent for the solo “Last Midnight” from “Into the Woods”
FLORIDA STATE THESPIAN FESTIVAL, THE SHOW MUST GO ON
In the spring of 2012, HCA High School Thespians spent four days in Tampa, Florida attending the largest gathering of high school theatre students in the world! HCA Junior thespians attended their competition in Melbourne, Florida, also the largest state Thespian competition in the world!
Our students were able to meet and watch other Thespians from across the state. The following students were honored with Excellent and Superior standings:
- Madison Alexander – Superior for the monologue “Bit Part”
- Brooklyn Carey – Superior for Publicity
- Jacob Adams, Cece Williams, Jennifer Mesagno, Justin Ebenhack, Victoria Shepherd, and Nicole Corretti – Superior for Ensemble Acting, “How to Succeed in High School Without Really Trying”
- Kyle Lassen and Christian Maugee – Excellent for Duet Acting, “Sherlock Holmes”
- Gabriella Armor and Sofia Merced – Superior in Duet Acting from Little Women
- Gabriella Armor, Bethany Chapman, Brianna Bossle, Bryce Ungerbuehler, Ozzy Castro, Marvyn Louis, and Sasha Orrego – Excellent in Pantomime, performing A Night at the Movies
